Cleaning out the stash.

I have decided to incorporate more hair product reviews and show you guys photos from the styles that I rotate in-between washes. I’ve received a lots of request and questions about products and the process I use. My wash days take time and patient. If you want to achieve nice results take your time and make sure you have time planned out in your day for styling, plus drying time. Hopefully these tips below will help with moisturizing and styling your tresses.

It’s been 7 years since I’ve been a natural curly girl. Over these years I have accumulated a lot of hair products. Between samples and Black Friday shopping there hasn’t been enough time for me to actually review all the products I have.  I believe by me sticking to all natural hair products this has grown my hair very long and healthy. The butters and oils keep my hair moisturized during the week without having to add extra products for moisture.

Monthly, I will do my best to review a black owned hair company and share my experiences with using the products. Side Note: Most of the products I will be reviewing were purchased with my own money. Some were sent, but this is my truthful opinion. This process will help me get rid of products I don’t like so I can stick to a few companies that add the moisture I need for my hair. This month I will be styling my hair in various styles using Smooth Naturals Hair Products. This is my absolute number 1 favorite hair product company for natural hair. Her products leave my hair moisturized for daysss and I always get compliments on how good my hair smells.

This week I’m rocking the twist and curl. I achieve this style by twisting my hair in about 20 twist and placing rollers on the end of my hair. I achieve a fuller twist out with using the perm rods at the ends. This style usually last a week when I pineapple my hair at night. The products I used for this style were:

Ultimate Hair Treat

I use the Ultimate hair treat as my leave-in. It’s thick enough to coat my strands and the slip is amazing. I don’t get too much fall out because it glides in my hair with ease. By me having coily strands slip is a definite must. I section my hair off in about six sections and rack this product in. Amazing ingredients!

Ingredients: Purified Water, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Aloe Vera Juice, Castor Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Pro-Vitamin B5, Optiphen, Vitamin E, Citric Acid and Fragrance

Perfect Moisture Leave-in Conditioner

Now this is the creamy crack. But the healthy creamy crack. This product is a leave-in but I use it as a sealant. It’s packed with so much moisture and I believe this is the product that keeps my hair moisturized the entire week. The consistency is like cake batter, literally. It also smells like it too. The smell is to die for. Now available in her classic Almond scent.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Leaf Juice)* Infused with: Salix Alba (White Willow Bark)* ,Hibiscus Sabdariffa (Hibiscus Flower)* Panax Ginseng (Ginseng Root)*, Ilex Raraguariensis (Yerba Mate Leaf )* Althaea Officinalis and (Marshmallow Root)*, Propanediol (Vegetable Derived)*, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Trimethylglycine (Beet Root)*, Panthenol (ProVitamin B5)*, Camellia Japonica(Camellia Seed Oil)*, Persea  Americana (Avocado Oil )*, Macadamia Integrifolia (Macadamia Nut Oil)*, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot Kernel Oil)*, Argania Spinosa (Argan Oil)*, Gluconolactone & Sodium Benzoate, Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran Oil)*, Caprylic Capric Triglycerides, Ubiquinone (CoQ10)*, Olea Europaea (Olive Oil)*, Guar Hydroxypropyl Trimonium Chloride*, Creatine and Fragrance

Hair Perfection

#1 Holy Grail Gel/ Styler

First, lets talk about the smell. This product smells like butter pecan ice cream mixed with a drizzle of honey. It sounds such more appetizing then you would think it’ll smell, but trust this stuff smells amazing. This on top of the Perfect Moisture has my hair smelling from a block a way. People just want to hug me to smell my hair when I first style my hair. The consistency is very thin and slimy. Reminds me of Aloe Vera Gel. Originally, when experimenting with this product a few years back I was a little skeptical with the consistency. By my hair being so thick you would think I need a thicker gel to hold it into place. Wrong!  When this gel dries, my curls are locked into place and moisturized. I never get much frizz with this product. It elongates my hair as well. If I had to pick any product from her line it would be this one. There would be no good hair days without this product for me. I always have a back up on standby.

Ingredients:  Aloe Vera Juice ,Water Infused with Horsetail, Nettle and Marshmallow Root, Olive Oil, Castor, Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Agave Nectar, Xanthan Gum, Honey Quat, Optiphen(preservative), ProVitamin B5, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid and Fragrance

Here are the results of using these products on my hair yesterday:

I ended up putting my hair in a pineapple because my hair doesn’t give me life until the second day. I like big hair and first day hair is too flat for me.
